ipconfig /release & /renew

Bring up your command prompt. Check out "How to bring up a Command Prompt or Terminal"
Type in ipconfig /release and then hit the Enter key.

This command forces connected adapters to give up it's current IP address.

In the same terminal, type in ipconfig /renew and then hit the Enter key.

This command allows the same adapters to obtain a new IP address.
