Dial-Up Modem Diagnostics
This lets you see if the modem is installed correctly and is functioning properly.
Windows 8
Move the mouse to the bottom left corner of the screen.
Right click once and a menu will pop-up. Left click on
Device Manager
.
Look for
Modems
in the list. Click the arrow to the left of modems.
Right click once on your modem.
In that menu left click on
Properties
.
Click on the
Diagnostics
tab.
Click on the
Query Modem
button.
Windows 7
Click on
Windows Button
then click
Control Panel
.
Double click the
Phone and Modem
icon.
Click the
Modems
tab, select your modem and click the
Properties
button.
Click the
Diagnostics
tab and then click the
Query Modem
button.
Wait screen will appear.

Windows Vista & XP
Click on
Windows Button
then click
Control Panel
.
Double click the
Phone and Modem Options
icon.
Click the
Modems
tab, select your modem and click the
Properties
button.
