Outlook 2013 - Creating a POP3 Account.
Open Outlook 2013. If the setup wizard appears, click the
Next button.
Then , on the
E-mail Accounts page, click the
Next button to start the setup.
If the wizard doesn't appear, go to the Outlook toolbar, click the
File tab. Just above the
Account Settings button, click
Add Account.
Your Name:
Type the name you'd like to appear on emails that you send out.
Email Address:
Type in your email address, e.g.,
username@glis.net
Password:
Type the password you use for your email address.
Retype Password:
Same password as above.
Place a check next to
Manually configure server settings or additional server types.
Click the
Next button.
Select
POP or IMAP, and then click the
Next.
User Information
Your Name:
Should be filled in.
Email Address:
Should be filled in.
Server Information
Account Type:
POP3
Incoming mail server:
mail.mailconfig.net
Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
mail.mailconfig.net
Logon Information
User Name:
Type in your glisnet email address, e.g.,
username@cac.net
Password:
Type the password you use for your email address.
Place a check next to
Remember password
Uncheck (if checked),
Require logon using Secure Password Authentication
Click the
More Settings... button.
Click the
Outgoing Server tab.
Place a check next to
My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
Place a "dot" next to
Use same settings as my incoming mail server
Click the
Advanced tab.
Outgoing server (SMTP):
Remove 25 and type in
587.
Click the
OK button.
Back at the main setup window, click the
Next button and then the
Finish button.
That's it!
