Outlook 2010 - Creating a POP3 Account.
Start Outlook 2010.
Click on
Tools /
Account Settings...
Under the
E-mail tab, click the
New... button.
Select
Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP
Click the
Next button.
Your Name:
Type the name you'd like to appear on emails that you send out.
Email Address:
Type in your glisnet email address, e.g.,
username@glis.net
Password:
Type the password you use for your email address.
Retype Password:
Same password as above.
Place a check next to
Manually configure server settings or additional server types.
Click the
Next button.
Make sure there's a "dot" next to
Internet E-mail
Click the
Next button.
User Information
Your Name:
Should be filled in.
Email Address:
Should be filled in.
Server Information
Account Type:
POP3
Incoming mail server:
mail.mailconfig.net
Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
mail.mailconfig.net
Logon Information
User Name:
Type in your email address, e.g.,
username@cac.net
Password:
Type the password you use for your email address.
Place a check next to
Remember password
Uncheck (if checked),
Require logon using Secure Password Authentication
Click the
More Settings... button.
Click the
Outgoing Server tab.
Place a check next to
My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
Place a "dot" next to
Use same settings as my incoming mail server
Click the
Advanced tab.
Outgoing server (SMTP):
Remove 25 and type in
587.
Click the
OK button.
Back at the main setup window, click the
Next button and then the
Finish button.
