Windows Live Mail - IMAP Setup


IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) setup will store the email messages on the server not like POP3 where it'll delete the email once it's downloaded on your computer. IMAP allows you to check your email anywhere from any device or through webmail services.

Click on the "Accounts" tab and then "Email".



Email address:

Type in your glisnet email address.

Password:

Type in the pasword for that email address.

Check - Remember this password.

Display name for your sent messages:

Type in the name you'd like to appear on the mails..

Check - Manually configure server settings.

Click the Next button.



Server type:

Select IMAP

Server address:

mail.glis.net
Leave port at 143.

Authenticate using:

Select Clear text

Logon user name:

Type in your email address

Outgoing server information

Server address:

smtp.glis.net

Port:

587

Check - Requires authentication.

Click the Next button.



Click the Finish button.



This window will appear. It's downloading the email message headers.


You'll be back at the main screen. That's it!
