Outlook Express - Viewing an Email's Message Source


Ever get an email that your not sure you should open of not? Here's a safe way to open the email without having to view it in the reading pane.




First this you want to do is disable the "Preview Pane".
The preview pane is the area where your emails are displayed for reading.





Click on View / Layout...





In the "Preview Pane" section, uncheck Show preview pane
Click the OK button.





Back at the main window, right-click once on the email you want to view the message source.
In the drop-down menu click on Properties.





Click on the Details tab.
Then click on the Message Source... button.




In the message source window, you can view the contents of the email
