How to disable modem compression.

• Go to the search box and type "phone" (w/o quotes) in the search field, and then click the Phone and Modem in the search list results


• In "Phone and Modem" click on the Modems tab.


• Select your modem in the list and click the Properties button.


• In "Properties", click the Advanced tab.


• Click the Change Default Preferences... button.


• In Compression, click the drop-down and select Disable.


• Click the OK button.

• Click on the Windows button and click on Control Panel.


• In Control Panel, click on Phone and Modem icon.


• In "Phone and Modem" click on the Modems tab.


• Select your modem in the list and click the Properties" button.  


• In "Properties", click the Advanced tab.


• Click the Change Default Preferences... button.  


• In Compression, click the drop-down and select Disable.  


• Click the OK button.

• Click on the Windows button and click on Control Panel.


• In Control Panel, click on Phone and Modem Options icon.


• In "Phone and Modem Options" click on the Modems tab.


• Select your modem in the list and click the Properties" button.


• In "Properties", click the Advanced tab.


• Click the Change Default Preferences... button.


• In Compression, click the drop-down and select Disable.


• Click the OK button.

• Click on the Start button and go to Settings and click Control Panel.


• In Control Panel, click on Phone and Modem Options icon.


• In "Phone and Modem Options" click on the Modems tab.  


• Select your modem in the list and click the Properties" button.


• In "Properties", click the Advanced tab.


• Click the Change Default Preferences... button.  


• In Compression, click the drop-down and select Disable.  


• Click the OK button.

• Click on Apple Menu / System Preferences..."


• In "System Preferences...", click on Network.


• Click on the Modem tab.


• Uncheck Enable error correction and compression in modem.


• Click Apply now button.


• Close out of "System Preferences..."
